There are some interesting facts about Cricket:
1. The game of cricket began in 16th century South East England.
2. For the first time in 1779, the rule of "Leg before wicket" (LBW) was introduced in cricket.
3. There are 42 different types of rules in cricket.
4. The first international match of cricket was played in the year 1844 between the United States and Canada.
5. The first World Cup of cricket was played in England in 1975.
6. The first women's cricket World Cup was held in England in 1973.
7. When the rule of 3rd Umpire was introduced for the first time in the history of cricket, the first player given out by the third umpire was Sachin Tendulkar.

9. Earlier cricket used to have 4 balls in one over but in 1889 it was increased from 4 balls to 5 balls in one over and in 1922 it was increased to 8 balls in one over, but after World War II there was a move from 1947. The over was reduced to 6 balls which is still going on.
10. The length of a cricket pitch is 20 meters and the weight of a cricket ball is about 1200 grams.
11. South Africa was banned from cricket from 1970 to 1992.
12. The first 20–20 (T20) World Championship was played in 2007.
13. Sachin Tendulkar has a record of 100 centuries in international cricket.
14. Playing against Sri Lanka in the year 2015, Ajinkya Rahane caught the most 8 catches in a Test match, which is a world record.
