Just like our Milky Way Galaxy, so is our neighboring galaxy, which we know by the name of ANDROMEDA.
This galaxy is similar to our Milky Way Galaxy and it also has billions and trillions of stars. Our modern technology today is not yet capable of understanding this huge house of stars, yet we know a little about this galaxy. Today we will put the same knowledge in front of you.
There are some amazing facts about ANDROMEDA Galaxy:
1. Andromeda Galaxy is also known as Messier 31 or M31.
2. In the cluster of galaxies, Andromeda is the largest galaxy. This local cluster is a cluster of 54 galaxies.
3. Scientists believe that there are more than 1 trillion stars in this galaxy.
4. Estimated mass of Andromeda is equal to 400 billion suns. In other words, it has a mass equal to the mass of 400 billion suns (from the sun we are talking about the sun in our solar system).
5. The diameter of this spiral galaxy is 260,000 light years.
6. Andromeda is moving towards the Milky Way Galaxy at speeds of 100–140 kilometers per second. Scientists believe that in the next few billion years, these skies can collide.
7. In 2010, a team of astronomers proposed that between 5 and 9 billion years ago, two small galaxies collided with each other and merged together, and the same merger led to the Andromeda galaxy coming into existence.
8. In addition to the super-massive black hole at the center of Andromeda, there are 26 more black holes inside this galaxy.
9. This galaxy appears in the region of Andromeda constellation and hence its name is Andromeda galaxy. Andromeda was the name of a mythical Greek princess.
