Monkeys are very intelligent and naughty animals. This animal is the closest relative of us humans. Humans too have evolved from monkeys over time, and so even today 98% of our DNA matches monkeys.

3. Monkeys of Pygmy Marmoset species are the smallest monkeys in the world it's weight only 100 grams and having a size of 5 to 6 inches.

4. Some species of monkeys can see colors, while there are some species which can see only black and white colors.

5. The largest species of monkey is named Mandrillus sphinx, which is 1 meter (3.3 ft) long and weighs 30 kg.

6. The world's fastest monkey species is called Patas Monkey, which can run at a speed of 55 km per hour on the ground.

7. The tail of Spider Monkey is so strong that it can carry full weight of its body.

8. Every year 14 December is celebrated as Monkey Day.

9. Charles Darwin said that our ancestors were monkeys and that physical and mental changes took place over time and later we became humans.
