Camel is mostly found in desert areas. There is a hunch on the camel's back. This hump is its identity, which makes it different from other organisms. It is also called desert ship.

1. Camels never spit unnecessarily, they use them as a safety net when they feel threatened.

2. Camels are herbivores. Camels eat leaves, plants, flowers, etc.

3. Camels are able to walk on sand easily due to the special design of their feet. The foot of a camel has two claws which spread by placing it on the ground and do not sink into the sand.

4. If we get 15% less water from the body of humans then we become dehydrated but even if 25% of the camel's body is depleted, they are not dehydrated.

5. They avoid walking on stony deserts because it damages their feet.

6. Their mouths are divided into two parts so that they can chew and eat their food effectively.

7. They can carry a weight of 450 kg.

8. Camel babies start walking in some hours after they are born.

9. It is believed that the camel keeps all its body water in its hump, but this is wrong. Actually, there is no water in their humps but fat is stored which helps to keep their body cool.

10. Camels can stay for a long time without drinking water. However, when these are drinking water, they drink approximately 145 liters at a time.

11. There are 3 layers of camel's eyelashes which protect them from the dust of the desert.

12. Arabian camels have only one hump on their back while Asian camels have two humps in their body.

13. Camels are very slow in appearance but they can run at a speed of 60 - 70 km/h although they cannot run at this speed for a long time but still can walk at a speed of 40 km.
